The French Ministry for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy (that happens to direct public policy regarding urban planning) has just published a good practice guide on the integration of the environmental conditions in new neighborhood development. The guide analyses cases in the metropolitan areas of Bordeaux, Paris, Lyon, Grenoble and Douai, presented to the Ecoquartiers initiative, and extracts conclusions as well from the design viewpoint as from the operational management viewpoint.
