Phoenix-based developer Philip Beere has specialized his firm Gstreet (www.gstreetinc.com) in remodeling of distressed homes (sometimes resulting from foreclosures) which are close to mass-transit lines; applying the National Green Building Standard the results are highly insulated homes with a good energy performance, which are in demand. The firm is expanding across the US with the G Home programme, integrating also work by other firms, which is grouped for marketing.

Energy efficiency certification is a central element of the programme, but there is also a work on healthier indoor air quality, a growing concern in many countries due to the building materials used in some countries.
